Membership in the Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band is a fun and rewarding experience for everyone. The band itself is a true community band in the sense that membership is open to anyone (16 or older) who wants to play. There are no auditions, and nobody gets kicked out. Though we are headquartered in Shoreview, you do not even have to be a Shoreview resident to participate.

The primary goals of the SNLVB are to get people together to have fun making music, socializing and entertaining at community events. To that end, members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly, play for our public appearances, help the organization through committee work when possible and, of course, pay their membership dues.

Rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at our rehearsal facility at the Shoreview Community Center.  The Band takes the entire month of August off, with no rehearsals or performances.
